CSK Chennai Super Kings (CSK), founded in 2008, is one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing its home matches at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, CSK made a remarkable comeback in 2018 after a two-year suspension due to the 2013 IPL betting controversy involving its owners, clinching the IPL title that year—its third, tying with Mumbai Indians for the most championships at the time. The franchise further secured another title in 2021, reinforcing its dominance. In 2014, India Cements approved the demerger of CSK into a wholly-owned subsidiary, effective from January 1, 2015, with shareholders receiving one CSK share for every India Cements share held. In 2018, CSK’s brand value was estimated at $65 million, making it the most valuable IPL franchise according to Brand Finance.
